The MS605 uses 24GHz radar to detect human presence. However, certain environmental factors may interfere with the radar signal, resulting in false alarms.
To improve detection accuracy, avoid placing items such as plants, metal objects, or thick glass between the sensor and the person, as these materials may block or reflect radar signals and affect judgment.
Please also be aware of the following common sources of interference and refer to the corresponding suggestions to reduce false triggers:
1. Curtains or plants near windows, especially when swaying due to open windows or air conditioning. Their movement can be misinterpreted as human activity.
2. Air conditioners, fans, and ventilation systems can create airflow or temperature variations that interfere with detection. These systems may also cause nearby objects like curtains or plants to move, leading to false alarms.
3. Towels in the bathroom, particularly when windows are open and air is flowing through, may sway and trigger false detection.
4. Refrigerators or other appliances that produce vibrations.
For example, if the sensor is facing a refrigerator or mounted directly on it, the vibration may be mistaken for human presence.
5. Large metal surfaces or reflective areas (e.g., mirrors, elevator interiors).
In certain angles, these surfaces can strongly reflect radar signals, causing the sensor to detect presence even when no one is there.
Example: If the sensor is installed inside an elevator, it may continue to detect high signal levels due to strong reflections, even when the elevator is not in motion, preventing normal operation.
